When you’re dealing with cancer, having a place to go for support, advice and information is more precious than you think.
The new Canterbury Cancer Centre has now opened at 74 Langdons Rd, Christchurch and is the first of its kind, providing integrated cancer support for patients from across the South Island Te Wai Pounamu.
The new and innovative building design includes the largest accommodation facility for South Island cancer patients and a new cancer hub for our local Canterbury patients to have a dedicated place of support.
With 1 out of 3 people receiving a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, cancer is something that touches us all, whether through whānau, friends or workplaces. This year alone 26,000 New Zealanders will learn they have cancer. This number is set to double in the next decade.
We need help from our communities throughout the South Island Te Wai Pounamu to help maintain the building and key services so it continues to be a comfortable and welcoming place for people to come to during an extremely challenging time in their lives.
You can support the Canterbury Cancer Centre by joining us as a Partner or by visiting our Registry/Rārangi and donating the funds for us to provide precious services needed for our guests.
By donating a counselling session, you can directly contribute to providing crucial emotional support to those in need. Your generous donation will enable us to expand our counselling services, hire more specialised counsellors, and provide a comforting and inclusive environment for our patients.
By making a general donation, you can help keep our centre equipped with the simple necessities, expand our range of services, and provide helpful support to those affected by cancer.
